Coddy Johnson is an Investing Partner at Goodwater Capital.
Coddy was formerly the President and Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard, a
global technology and entertainment company which he helped grow to over 400 million
monthly players and $8B in revenue. Activision Blizzard was acquired by Microsoft in
2023. Coddy was also Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Altschool, a Silicon
Valley education technology company which raised over $200M to develop
personalized, whole-child learning platforms for students and classrooms.
Coddy earned his undergraduate degree from Yale and his MBA from the Stanford
Graduate School of Business (Arjay Miller Scholar). He also served President George
W. Bush as a White House advisor and as the National Field Director of his re-election
campaign.
At Goodwater, Coddy focuses on consumer and prosumer investments in media,
entertainment, education, and workplace technology. He serves on multiple boards,
including Scopely, one of world’s largest mobile game companies; ReadAI, one of the
fastest growing workplace productivity apps; and Ello, an app-based reading AI platform
for kids. He is also a member of the board for Stanford Business School’s Advisory
Council and of the Environmental Defense Fund.
